Hello, my name is Armida Valencia and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California working statewide via telehealth. I work with children, individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders. I use a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Trauma Informed, and Reality Therapy to help patients achieve their mental health goals and feel better.

My therapeutic style and approach vary depending on the client's treatment goals and what works best for them. I use the modality that best suits the client's needs. I also like to implement a cultural approach when needed, for clients needing cultural validation.

My communication style is assertive and direct, but compassionate and warm. I believe in making clients feel safe and understood, as well as holding them accountable for reaching their treatment goals.

Helping people, planting healthy seeds for future generations, and helping people improve their lives are what drives me to do this work. I want to help people feel validated, heard, safe and guide them to living healthier lifestyles.

My first session with you
During our first session you should expect us to spend the majority of the time reviewing your psychosocial history, your current symptoms and stressors, and how you are presently feeling. In the first session, we will discuss what to expect from treatment, go over the client's expectations of therapy and answer any and all questions to make the client's experience as comfortable and positive as possible.
