My communication style

I cultivate a safe environment where you can discuss anything without fear of judgment, including topics often considered forbidden—race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, health, politics. Sessions are directed by you, though I provide guidance when needed. You're free to ask about my process and share what works or doesn't.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've always been a good listener and found joy in helping others sort out their feelings. I'm driven to help people learn to help themselves so they no longer need me.

My goals for you

You tell me what you want from therapy, and I help clarify those goals into something tangible and reachable. Most people want to reduce unhealthy thoughts and behaviors or improve relationships, and I help make those goals specific so we can attain them together.

Our first session

I introduce myself and how I practice, and discuss your rights and expectations. I'll ask questions about what you want from therapy and your background to better understand where you're coming from, but you don't have to answer anything you don't want to. Therapy can be uncomfortable at times, but it should never feel unsafe.
