Hi, my name is Hazel Gonzalez and I am an LMFT. I have been working with children, teens, families, and adult individuals over the last 20 years. I like to get to know my client(s) and determine what approach will best benefit them. I utilize Cognitive Behavior and other modalities that best serve the Client(s).
My approach
I work with Clients to best determine what issue they are wanting to work on. I encourage and motivate Clients to be as active as possible in their treatment. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my treatment.
My focus
I work with children, teens, families, and individuals. I have worked on anxiety, suicide, depression, medication issues, loss issues, and mental health challenges. I have experience with adoption and foster care challenges.
My communication style
I try to provide a nurturing and safe place to discuss issues. Clients are encouraged to share thoughts and feelings. Clients are treated with respect and empathy.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became interested in helping others in junior high. I went on to become a peer counselor in high school. I decided to pursue my vision and became a therapist after completing my Master's degree. I have always wanted and enjoyed giving back to others.
My goals for you
I encourage goal setting and reviewing progress periodically to see if we are on task.
My first session with you
Clients can expect to feel supported and encouraged to continue with their therapy process.
