Hi there, I'm Charla!

Hello and welcome to my practice! I am located in San Diego, California working with adult clients that are willing to explore beyond what traditional therapy techniques have to offer. Some common symptoms that clients seeking healing from within my services are in the areas of trauma, life transitions, career challenges, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, and much more. I utilize my training to support clients in understanding the cause of their current distress and then applying tools, at their comfort level, to target these issues and transform the client’s relationship to their distress. The intended result is to find relief, resolve, and possible solutions to change their experience for the better. I am nurturing in my approach while ensuring that clients feel challenged to explore the more challenging dynamics of their experience in a safe and supportive way. When a client first meets with me, understanding what the client wants to work on is the most important first step to guide future treatment efforts. I assess in depth what the client wants and aim to always create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore anything that may be causing discomfort. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist holding a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology and certificates in Hypnosis and Reiki Healing while working toward certification in EMDR "Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocess". I have had extensive experience working with various populations in hospital settings, school systems, and private practice which enables me to understand a wide range of symptoms and ways of facilitating healing. When not in private practice, I enjoy being at the beach, reading on material concerning spirituality, and spending quality time with loved ones.
