My communication style

I am open, compassionate, concise, and direct when working with clients. I strike a good balance between listening and talking during sessions to create a safe space for you to look within and explore things you may not have felt comfortable enough to do on your own. I am very comfortable discussing difficult, embarrassing, taboo subjects.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started working with older adults struggling with late-life issues such as loneliness, isolation, anxiety, and depression. I transitioned to community mental health, working with adults and teens, which expanded my horizons and gave me perspective on the experiences of struggling single mothers and families.

My goals for you

I work collaboratively with clients to identify, express, and work towards compassionate, attainable goals that focus on what you want to accomplish. I check in, monitor, and guide you towards your goals by staying active, present, and mindful in sessions.

Our first session

During the initial session, I get to know you, your circumstances, and what you are struggling with. I gather basic information, history, and discuss goals. You are encouraged to answer questions at your comfort level. I also encourage you to ask questions and share what you expect from therapy.
