Hi there, I'm Jennifer!

I work with children, teens, and adults. I have a non-judgmental, collaborative, and strengths-based perspective and will work alongside you to support your goals.

My focus

I work with families impacted by trauma, substance use, foster care, adoption, and systemically oppressed populations. I focus on early childhood (0-5), depression, anxiety, neuro-diverse individuals, those with learning differences, and LGBTQIA individuals.

My approach

I have a humanistic, secular (non-religious) approach that is informed by an understanding of how each person has unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. At times, each of us can feel overwhelmed by the demands on our time and energy or feel stuck in a role that no longer feels authentic.

My communication style

I prefer to meet with my clients in a quiet and calm setting. I want to check in with my clients at the beginning of sessions to understand how they are doing, how their week has been since we last met, and explore what they would like to talk about, and work on, in the current session.

My journey to mental healthcare

I realized I wanted to help people by becoming a therapist after having been helped myself through therapy. I also realized how many extended family members had been negatively impacted by their own early childhood traumas that had never been addressed.

My goals for you

I want to support my clients in reducing current distress and to support them in achieving their goals. During our work together I will continue to check in with you about your goals and whether they are being addressed or have shifted.

I want to spend our first session getting to know you better and learning more about your concerns and goals. Our work together will be most successful when we develop a trusting partnership.
