I provide a safe, accepting, and mindful environment as well as culturally sensitive services for children, adults, and families who are experiencing difficulties with emotional stress and behavioral issues. I strive to help clients move beyond the points that prevent them from living fulfilling lives.
My approach
In helping clients realize their life goals, I'll assist them in identifying possible ineffective responses to life stressors and coping patterns in order to replace them with those that lead to a higher quality of living. My approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based frameworks.
My focus
I specialize in working with minors aged 8-17, individuals, and families. Areas of focus include ADHD, anger management, behavioral issues, cultural stress, depression, divorce, family conflict, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, and more. I'm experienced in treating child abuse/neglect and working with older adults.
My communication style
My communication style is person-centered, empathetic, and focused on building a strong therapeutic alliance. I aim to create an environment of trust and openness where clients feel heard and validated. Sessions are collaborative, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Science degree in counseling from California State University, Bakersfield. My education and clinical training have equipped me with a solid foundation in various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, art therapy, play therapy, couples and family therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the insights, coping skills, and resilience needed to overcome challenges and lead a more fulfilling life. Whether you're struggling with emotional distress, relationship issues, or life transitions, I'm here to provide support, guidance, and evidence-based strategies tailored to your unique situation.
My first session with you
During our first session, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy and collaborate to establish goals aligned with your values and aspirations. I'll gather information about your background, strengths, and current challenges to develop a personalized treatment plan. This initial meeting is an opportunity for us to build rapport and ensure we're a good fit to work together.
