My name is Susan Cane and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I specialize in working with adults to identify and break through blocks preventing their ability to meet their goals. Approaches primarily used are, cognitive behavioral therapy, energy therapy, mindfulness, and to help clients become more self-aware, and self-confident in creating and meeting life goals.
My approach
My therapy approach is to listen to my client and identify their unique issues they may be struggling with or areas they want to improve and together we develop a plan. My most common interventions include energy therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, eclectic therapy, existential therapy, emotional focused therapy, mindfulness, depending on your needs as we develop new life skills.
My focus
I often work with clients struggling with anxiety/stress from relationships, work, school, and the development of life skills. I can help you identify and discover the steps needed to improve these areas in your life and improve your level of self-awareness and confidence in developing and meeting your life goals.
My communication style
My communication style is to be calming and easy to talk to with no judgment. I am here to learn about you through listening, being present, and developing a therapeutic relationship of trust and understanding.
My journey to mental healthcare
While developing a business career, I learned how to apply mindfulness techniques to manage stress and obtain personal/professional goals. I became passionate in helping others develop their life skills and became a life coach which led me to becoming a psychotherapist. My life purpose is helping others develop and achieve their goals.
My goals for you
Goal setting is developed through collaboration with client and helping client identify and express areas in their life they may struggle with or would like to improve, whether it be health, wealth, family, relationships, time management, spirituality, or identifying a life purpose. Together we will create a planned approach to develop your desired path.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will gather and learn information about you and answer any questions you may have. We will explore your desire for therapy and how best I can help you meet your goals.
