I’m Brandy Smith, LCSW, LICSW, a licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. With a compassionate and client-centered approach, I specialize in helping individuals navigate the challenges of trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can explore your emotions and find the healing you deserve.
My approach
I believe that therapy should be as unique as you are. That’s why I use an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and EMDR. These techniques allow us to work together to address your specific needs and help you build a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My focus
I work with individuals who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated by life’s challenges. Whether you’re dealing with the aftermath of trauma, struggling with anxiety, or finding it difficult to navigate a significant life transition, I am here to support you. Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship that serves as the foundation for your growth and healing.
My communication style
In our sessions, you’ll find a welcoming and non-judgmental environment. I place great importance on building trust and safety, allowing you to feel comfortable sharing your experiences. Clients who benefit most from my approach are those who are motivated to work towards meaningful change and are open to the journey of self-discovery.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to becoming a therapist was born out of a deep desire to help others navigate their most challenging moments. As a U.S. Veteran, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of trauma and the strength it takes to heal. This experience fuels my passion for supporting individuals as they reclaim their power and find greater peace in their lives.
My goals for you
Setting goals in therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe they should be flexible to suit your evolving needs. My aim is to help you achieve a sense of calm and stability, guiding you to interact with the world in a way that aligns with your true self. Together, we’ll create goals that are realistic, empowering, and reflective of what you wish to achieve in your life and relationships.
My first session with you
Our first session is all about getting to know you—your story, your concerns, and your hopes for therapy. I don’t have a preset agenda or timeline; instead, we’ll work together at your pace. Whether you’re looking for short-term support or considering a longer therapeutic journey, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
