My name is Kristine Villanueva and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT 91314) providing therapy to adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I value a person-centered approach and provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment for growth and healing.
My approach
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused, and Narrative Therapy to develop a collaborative approach with individuals to create a safe space for growth.
My focus
I typically work with individuals with anxiety, depression, survivors of trauma, or individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
My communication style
I use a collaborative approach. Sessions are calm but focused, gently redirecting as needed to help individuals achieve their expressed goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I strive to help individuals find their voice, a desire for change, and a place for growth. I was driven to this work by a want to help others, and over the course of the past 12 years, have found a desire to provide a space to do so.
My goals for you
Goal setting is an important step in growth. I approach goal setting using the clients' identified strengths to help them set focused, achievable goals.
My first session with you
The first session will include an assessment of needs as well as identifying any treatment goals and strengths as well as areas of growth.
