Hello, my name is Shannon Foster-MacAuley. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT & Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC with a passion for helping others steady their course to create abundant and peaceful lives. Since rerouting my own course in 2012 to begin researching the psychological effects of trauma and war, I have had the privilege of working side by side with many individuals, families, and children of all ages who have experienced a wide array of trauma exposures.
My approach
My style of therapy is humanistic and client-centered in nature. I believe in the power and resiliency of the human spirit and provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space, utilizing evidence-based practices such as EMDR to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.
My focus
I work with a wide range of human-related issues and specialize in trauma and stress. Whether clients are seeking growth personally or professionally, as a dual licensed therapist I have a broad range of clinical/life knowledge and training to assist them on their wellness journey. In addition, being a military veteran and member of a first responder family affords me a unique insight into the culture of supporting professions and the impact this work may have on the individual as well as their relationships.
My communication style
Clients can expect a warm and comfortable space when working with me. Yes, I have training, education, and experience as a therapist, yet I am human just like you and I believe that is where I am most able to connect with others. My hope for every client is whether I am the right therapist for you or not, you will feel deeply seen, respected, and appreciated during our time together.
