My communication style

My style is welcoming, calm, and supportive. I empathize with you, as I'm mindful that sharing personal struggles may not be comfortable. I use reflective listening to ensure you are heard and understood. I ask open-ended questions to build trust and elicit dialogue.

My journey to mental healthcare

After leaving active duty, I volunteered at the local VA hospital. I discovered many individuals struggling with adjusting to civilian life, substance abuse, and mental health challenges. I fell in love with supporting them. This experience led me to change my path and come alongside others.

My goals for you

Early on, we identify goals you want to achieve together, but you are the boss when it comes to identifying them. My role is to help you address the challenges that have kept you from reaching those goals. Along the way, you gain personal insight that shapes future thinking and behaviors.

Our first session

Our first session allows us to get to know one another and ask questions of each other. You share at the pace you're comfortable with. While you're sharing, I'm gaining an understanding of how I can best support you. The first session helps us decide if we're a good match.
