Hi there, I'm Ashour!

I am Dr. Badal, a California-licensed marriage and family therapist and registered psychological associate. With over 20 years in the behavioral health field, I bring extensive experience to help individuals, couples, and families lead more fulfilling lives.

My approach

My therapeutic approach draws from various modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and solution-focused methods. I tailor evidence-based practices to each client's unique needs, fostering personal growth and positive change.

My focus

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, chronic pain, ADHD, and other mental health concerns across the lifespan. Whether you are struggling with difficult life transitions, relationship issues, or managing a chronic condition, I am here to provide compassionate support.

My communication style

Building a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation of my practice. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. Through active listening and collaborative dialogue, we will work together to develop personalized strategies for healing and resilience.

My journey to mental healthcare

My path to the mental health field began with a deep curiosity about the human mind and behavior. I pursued graduate and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, with specialized training in psychopharmacology and pain management. Over the years, I have worked in various settings, from higher education to research to direct clinical practice, honing my skills to effectively support diverse populations.

My goals for you

My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to overcome challenges, gain self-awareness, and lead a more balanced life. Whether you are seeking short-term symptom relief or long-term personal development, I will work diligently to help you achieve your unique goals and enhance your overall well-being.

My first session with you

During our initial session, we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy and collaborate to develop a personalized treatment plan. I will take time to understand your background, strengths, and areas of concern. From there, we will establish a regular meeting schedule and begin our therapeutic work together. You can expect a supportive, engaging environment where your voice is heard and your progress is celebrated.
