Hello! My name is Nicholas Giotto. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate to have the privilege of helping others to navigate life’s challenges.
My approach
I take a balanced approach to therapy, meeting individuals wherever they are in their journey of positive mental health. Sometimes that involves examining the past through a psychodynamic lens; other times taking a here-and-now view to make change using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or other mindfulness-based approaches.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents and adults, individuals and couples to address a variety of challenges including anger management, anxiety, and depression.
My communication style
I believe each individual is an expert on their own life, in the driver’s seat. But sometimes we all need a little help from a skilled navigator. I offer an open, supportive, non-judgmental space for clients as we navigate the journey together.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have experienced firsthand the healing and personal growth that is possible when working with a supportive therapist. I have considered it an honor to help others in their own path of healing, self-acceptance, and behavioral change.
My goals for you
I believe goal setting is most effective when the client and therapist work together to work on those things the client identifies as important. I will help to craft goals that are specific, measurable, meaningful, realistic, and time-framed.
My first session with you
During a first session, clients can expect an introduction, a discussion of client history as well as the current reason the client is seeking therapy, and a collaborative discussion to set treatment goals.
