My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and energetic. I believe in human resiliency and our freedom to change at any moment. I utilize a cognitive and attachment-based approach that serves to empower and assist clients to take responsibility for shaping, molding, and creating their lives. I have over 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals and families who are dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, Mood Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual abuse, and substance abuse.
My approach
I utilize both Cognitive-Behavioral and Insight Oriented approaches. I also utilize neurobiologically-informed and somatic techniques to help clients reconnect to their instincts. I receive my clinical inspiration from a variety of sources, including Carl Jung, Gabor Mate, Susan Johnson, Viktor Frankl, and Daniel Siegel.
My focus
I especially work well with creative people who are struggling with anxiety and depression, feeling stuck, or seeking to find balance in their personal or professional lives by renewing their commitment to authenticity, awe, power, caring, creativity, and engagement.
My communication style
I recognize the uniqueness of each individual who enters the room. I believe humans are incredibly multidimensional, and I like to practice mindful, present listening and engagement in order to truly understand the nuance of each client. My clients have expressed to me they feel safe, seen, and accepted.
My journey to mental healthcare
Through my own life experience, I have witnessed humans have the freedom to change at any moment. But sometimes, we are like plants who have been moved out of the sunlight. Connecting to the right therapist can be a transformative experience that helps us to transmute our pain to growth, freedom, and expansion. What continues to motivate me is witnessing my clients transform and make positive changes in their lives. The doors to the world of the wild self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door; if you have an old, old story, that is a door‚ - Clarissa Pinkola Estes Women Who Run With Wolves.
My goals for you
I help clients identify unhelpful survival patterns that have developed due to our past experiences and conditioning. Through discussion and collaborative exploration, we identify goals that assist in healing, thriving, growing.
My first session with you
Your first session will be a chance for you to unpack what has been on your mind and heart. We will collaboratively explore and identify meaningful goals.
