Hello, I am a psychotherapist currently providing Telehealth to children and adults. You have taken a very positive step by deciding to seek therapy. Your treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may sometimes result in great discomfort. I will walk by you on this journey.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is Trauma-Informed psychotherapy. I incorporate integrative therapeutic techniques with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and use the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy model (DBT), PolyVagal Informed somatic work. I create a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic approach to assisting you and your loved ones in developing coping skills and social, emotional, and environmental strengths.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, families, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include Relational Trauma, ADHD, anxiety, cultural stress, depression, divorce, family conflict, grief, stress management, life coaching, life transitions, mood disorders, OCD, parenting, pregnancy issues, self-esteem, women's issues, and impulse control disorders.
My communication style
I am an insightful, empathetic, compassionate, and motivated counselor. My communication style focuses on establishing rapport, establishing trust-based relationships, applying behavior modification techniques, conducting assessments, and providing skill coaching and treatment services in a nonjudgmental manner. I collaborate with clients to develop treatment plans, help them establish therapeutic goals, and take steps to recover from mental health concerns.
My journey to mental healthcare
Since 2006, my multicultural experience has extended from serving Holocaust survivors to incarcerated clients in three different countries. I have focused on working with underappreciated populations because I wanted to share my lived experience as an immigrant woman who has struggled to adjust to new systems. Before my present position, I served as a counselor for students at Fresno Pacific University's Seminary Department.
My goals for you
My goals for you are to feel safe to express your thoughts and feelings in a safe space, modify risk factors, enhance the quality of your life, and help you recover from mental health concerns. I will work with you to enhance your skills and behaviors, develop coping skills, and build on your social, emotional, and environmental strengths. I can also provide links to community resources to enhance the quality of services you receive.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will focus on getting to know you and understanding your needs. I will conduct assessments as needed and begin establishing rapport. We will discuss your goals for therapy and start collaborating on a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. You can expect me to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space as we embark on this therapeutic journey together.
