Hi, my name is Juliet McNeil and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Apple Valley, California and work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, and parenting issues. I modify my approach to treatment based on the needs of my clients so they can progress and gain the skills needed to feel better.
My approach
My approach varies on the needs of the client. I utilize a strengths-based approach in order to build upon the individual skills of each client. This allows for clients to build confidence and success which provides a path forward in treatment.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults who struggle with daily stressors, parenting issues, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. I help my clients build personal strengths, coping skills, and interventions so they can overcome daily struggles.
My communication style
My communication style is supportive, nurturing, and encouraging. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe talking with me about anything. I tend to be energetic and often use humor.
My journey to mental healthcare
Ever since I was a child, I realized I wanted to work with people. When I got older, I realized I wanted to accomplish this by becoming a therapist. I have always been a supportive, encouraging, and nurturing person. Becoming a therapist allowed me to use these strengths to reach my goal of helping others. Additionally, I am following in my mom's footsteps who is also an LCSW.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is all about starting where the client is at and working together to identify goals. It is important that the goals are client-centered based on individual needs.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of time discussing what is bringing you to treatment. This will help us to begin to identify the areas in your life that you would like to see improved or changed. The first session is about building initial trust and a connection which will give me a sense of our direction. Each person is different and I like to listen to them in order to gain a better knowledge of how I can help in the best way possible moving forward.
