Hi there, I'm Lisa!
Life can be hard sometimes, and I can certainly relate. I believe the best thing we can do is reach out for support to meet challenges head-on or to develop more coping skills if circumstances can not change. My therapy style is warm, caring, and non-judgmental as I focus on validating emotions while also gently challenging areas for growth.
My focus
I am a trauma-informed therapist and spent many years working with trauma patients to reduce the impact that the trauma has on their lives. Part of healing is being brave and sharing your story and as you do this I pull from strengths that I see and assist in helping you to change the trauma narrative that increase empowerment and self-esteem.
My approach
I tend to come from a place of curiosity and ask empathic and strategic questions to gain a deeper understanding of the reasons for the challenges to occur. I also spend a great deal of time validating emotions, as I feel validating emotions can be a great birthplace for healthy changes to occur, as well as insight that is needed for growth.
