Hello, my name is Monique Enriquez and I am an LMFT. I work with children, teens, and adults using a client-centered approach.
My approach
My approach to therapy is client-centered and based on the current needs of the client. I most frequently use a Humanistic approach in therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also have experience in and use Attachment Theory and play therapy to support clients.
My focus
I have experience working with children, teens, and adults and I am comfortable working with all ages. I typically support clients with symptoms of anxiety, and depression as well as working on self-esteem, self-determination, and healthier relationships.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, personable, and assertive. I support clients with feeling comfortable expressing their feelings and feeling heard through my communication style.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist after years of working in community-based programs in different cities in California. I saw there is a need for support in the area of mental health and have always found myself drawn to getting to know other people's stories and being a listening ear.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is based on client's goals for therapy. I like to work with clients on building rapport and reaching an understanding of what they would like to work on in therapy and building upon client's strengths to meet their goals.
My first session with you
My initial session is based on getting to know the client. I would like to know current struggles, and symptoms, support, and create a trusting environment through listening and allowing the client to express freely what it is they are experiencing.
