Hello! My name is Christine Perry and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe treatment should be as unique as each individual, therefor my approach is very client/person-centered and strength-based. This gives us the opportunity to utilize your needs to create a space in which you can heal and grow.
My approach
Throughout my clinical experience, I’ve utilized a variety of techniques that are based on both interpersonal and person-centered, for me this means that we work from the perspective that each individual has the answers they need. During treatment, we will utilize Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (among others as needed).
My focus
I have experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, families, and caregivers with a variety of concerns ranging from stage of life to severe impairment of daily life. Additionally, I have experience working with those in crisis (SI, HI, self-harm), eating disorders, mood disorders, relational issues, maladaptive coping skills, addiction, and life adjustment disorders.
My communication style
My presence in therapy is empathetic, present, and caring with a dash of humor as appropriate. Depending on the stage of treatment I can be your cheerleader, your hope holder, or step up and be a guide for the next positive transition in your life.
My journey to mental healthcare
I found myself entering into this profession because I find myself in awe of the strength and enormous bravery of those grappling with life issues, myself included. It takes courage to enter a room and share your struggles and to trust the person sitting across from you while you enter into your healing phase, I will forever honor that.
My goals for you
During sessions you can expect to explore your concerns, identify your needs, and work collaboratively in setting goals if needed, otherwise, be a listening ear to help you process.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will spend time setting the expectations for therapy, completing administrative tasks, listening to your story, and getting to know each other.
