Hi there, I'm Julio!

Hello, My name is Julio Hernandez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles working with clients throughout California via telehealth. I work with all people from young adults to older adults and I specialize in trauma, depression, stress, and life changes using Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Rogerian Person-Centered Therapy to support my clients through their life challenges and help them feel better.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is tailored to the unique needs of each client I serve. I commonly draw upon the effective methodologies of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rogerian Person-Centered Therapy to empower my clients in overcoming life's hurdles and enhancing their well-being. In addition, I offer a diverse range of treatment modalities, including Somatic Experiencing and EMDR, to further cater to your individual journey toward healing and growth. Your path to personal transformation is met with a holistic and adaptable approach.

My focus

I specialize in fostering meaningful connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds, spanning from young adults to seasoned individuals facing life's formidable challenges and transitions. My expertise lies in supporting clients dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress. I am dedicated to guiding my clients through these pivotal life moments, equipping them with the tools needed to enhance self-esteem and cultivate a brighter perspective on life.

My communication style

I pride myself on my relaxed, calm, personable, and compassionate communication style. My ultimate objective is to connect with each client on their unique journey, fostering a warm, supportive, and safe space where they can comfortably share and navigate their life experiences. Your well-being and progress are at the heart of my approach.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist was driven by a deep-rooted passion for assisting others. From a young age, I felt an innate calling to support people during their most challenging moments. Witnessing individuals evolve into their truest and most empowered selves has always been a source of genuine fulfillment for me.

My goals for you

My approach to goal-setting in therapy centers around collaborative exploration of what you aim to achieve during our sessions. It begins with establishing trust and fostering a sense of ease in the therapeutic process. As we continue, we will work closely together to define clear goals and diligently monitor your progress over time. Your journey towards personal growth and well-being is our shared commitment.

My first session with you

During our initial session together, you can anticipate a focused discussion on your recent emotions and experiences. I'll ask questions to gain insight into the factors contributing to your current feelings. This first session is all about establishing an initial connection and enabling me to gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique needs. I believe in tailoring our approach to your individuality, which is why I prioritize listening and learning before determining the most effective path forward. Your well-being is at the forefront of our journey together.
