My name is Kayti McDaniel, and I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in perinatal mental health. I help new parents throughout California develop values-based strategies to navigate pregnancy, the postpartum year, and work after baby. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by parenthood or just want to be intentional about your mental health during this major life transition, I'd love to support you.
My approach
While therapy will be tailored to your unique needs and circumstances, my work is primarily grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We'll: 1) explore and clarify what matters most to you, 2) make friends with intense thoughts and emotions that are keeping you stuck, and 3) determine concrete actions you can take in your day-to-day life to help you design a life you love.
My focus
I work with new parents of all genders during pregnancy and the postpartum year. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or simply more stress than usual, you deserve support.
My communication style
Therapy doesn't have to be scary or overly serious. Of course, we'll be serious when we need to be, but we'll also make space to kick our feet up, laugh a little, and send giant high-fives through the universe to celebrate the amazingness that happens when you apply this therapy goodness to your life.
My journey to mental healthcare
I'm passionate about this work partly because of my own experience during that first season of parenthood. Meeting with an online therapist gave me the support I needed to be well and show up for myself, for my family, and for things that mattered most to me. My hope is to help you do the same.
My goals for you
As your therapist, I'll bring all the good stuff I've learned through my clinical practice and training. I'll invite you to bring all the good stuff you've learned from your own lived experience. We'll work together to set goals you're excited about and create a game plan to reach them.
