Nicole Farshchian

My name is Nicole and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Florida and California. My goal as a therapist is to help you learn and figure out who you are through education and through building insight. I specialize in working with young and middle-aged adults struggling with identity, addiction, interpersonal relationships, personality disorders, attachment issues, depression, and anxiety. I truly believe that each and every one of us has the strength to overcome any issue; sometimes we just need a little help.

My approach

I employ a warm, comforting, strengths-based approach with a dash of motivational interviewing. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary approach when working with individuals. It is incredibly fascinating how we can subconsciously build behaviors and reactions based on how we have been treated in the past and CBT helps with building self-awareness and insight.

My focus

I love working with individuals facing depression. anxiety, comorbid diagnoses, personality disorders, unhealthy coping mechanisms, the list goes on... As a fellow human being, life can be so hard especially if you feel alone in it. I want to be that light for people who feel that they are enveloped in darkness.

My communication style

As a clinician, the concept of unconditional love is very important to my practice. My goal is to create a safe, judgement-free, and kind environment so that we both feel comfortable communicating with each other (and with that sometimes healthy confrontation is needed!). The ability to admit that you are ready to seek therapy is difficult enough. I want to help you feel as confident as possible in your decision.

My journey to mental healthcare

As a fellow human being living in the same world as you, I have struggled with my own demons and negative feelings and thoughts. Education is my passion and I utilize the therapeutic interventions that I'm trained in to educate others on being able to build insight, awareness, and recognize that life does not have to be as scary as it seems.

Goal setting is you-focused. Change does not happen unless you truly desire it. We will work with where you are at.

My first session with you

During the first session, the two questions I ask are: what is your history with therapy, and what brings you specifically to therapy today? With that conversation starter, we will dive into identifying goals that you may have and hopefully speak about personal history if you find yourself feeling comfortable enough.
