Hello! Congratulations on taking action! My name is Tammy Murphy, LMFT. I am a Licensed Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience! My primary specialty is in treating anxiety and depression. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to help my clients heal and succeed! Life can be challenging, and we all need support from time to time. Although pain is part of life, suffering doesn’t have to be! I believe that most people have a sense of what they need to do. The question is what gets in the way of doing it. Together we will find answers that will improve the quality of your life!
My approach
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and engaging. I utilize an array of evidence-based practices, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, Solutions-Focused, and Strength-Based modalities. I also like to throw in a touch of humor!
My focus
My primary specialty is in treating anxiety and depression. I also work with clients to improve coping skills, self-esteem, and body image. In addition, I help clients with sleep, job stress, career issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, and ADHD.
My communication style
When working with clients, I create a warm, engaging, and nonjudgmental environment. Each client gets my undivided attention. You will feel heard, respected, appreciated, and empowered!
My journey to mental healthcare
I love being a therapist! I have always had a curiosity about people. The first time I took a class in psychology, I knew I had found my calling! I establish strong, caring connections with my clients and become very invested in their healing and success. Working with clients gives me a sense of purpose!
My goals for you
Therapy is a partnership! Together we will explore barriers, learn new skills, and take small but necessary steps toward reaching your therapeutic goals. The most important investment you will ever make is in YOU!
My first session with you
During our initial session, we will get to know each other. I will gather information about your history and how long you have been experiencing your difficulties. By the end of the session, we will know if we are a good match. I love working with a variety of people, so chances are we will be a good match! We will then work together to create goals and develop our action plan!
