Hi. I'm Vickie Zarazua, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I'm a person that meets individuals where they are at, emotionally and spiritually, in a judgment-free environment.
My approach
In my client-centered approach, the client becomes the driver of the entire treatment, including setting the tone and goals. I strongly believe cognitive behavioral therapy can help increase awareness, which can be a very useful tool.
My focus
Working with middle and late adulthood through their retirement, depressive episode(s), specifically grieving the loss of a relationship and loved one, has become an area of passion in my practice.
My communication style
I promote a warm and safe environment that allows for rapid rapport building --getting to know my client in an authentic, natural, and safe way.
My journey to mental healthcare
Working with emotions and the way that we process the world around and inside of us is fascinating. These are elements we can not see with our eyes; we can only feel them. Increased awareness is necessary to unlock walls that impede us from growing emotionally and spiritually. My own journey toward self-awareness developed a mental muscle I did not know existed. I learned that emotional wounds can fully heal and turn into beautiful scars that no longer hurt. I'm passionate about walking alongside my clients during difficult times that require grieving and also celebrating with them their wins. Healing is best done in a community, never isolated or alone.
My goals for you
Goal setting consists of meeting my client where they are, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My client knows and is empowered to explore areas of concern and those areas that need modification.
My first session with you
Clients can expect to be welcomed with no prejudgments into a safe, relaxed, and warm therapeutic environment. Confidentiality and emotional safety are a must and should be expected. This is the time we work together to develop a treatment plan and explore areas that need modification.
