My name is AnnMarie Rotan and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 3 states working with clients via telehealth. I work with adults in all phases of life from college through retirement to identify how to manage barriers keeping them from achieving their best quality of life.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is holistic based on the needs of every individual which can change as we move through the process together. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy due to its versatility but am comfortable using numerous other approaches as needed.
My focus
My style and approach are a good fit for people who are looking for a partner on their journey in dealing with the challenges of life transitions, health challenges, or grief and loss. It is common to experience anxiety, depression, stress, and self-doubt at different points in our lives but together we can work to navigate the challenges and build skills to enhance your life.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, honest, supportive, and personable. Clients can feel comfortable talking to me about anything and know that they are being heard and never judged.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always been a "people person." Using that natural attribute led me to the helping professions. Being able to help connect someone to needed resources or be with them in times of great sorrow is a gift. I worked in the medical field doing crisis intervention and community resources for many years before I was finally given the opportunity to give back and share the love of my profession through teaching college classes. This led me back to my clinical therapist roots and helped people to find the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is always focused on my clients' identified needs and concerns. As we both get to know each other those goals will start to take shape and we can then work together to track progress always being mindful that life continues to happen, and new goals can continue to be formed throughout our time together.
My first session with you
Our first session together will be getting to know who you are, what some of your life experiences have been, and what your current challenges or struggles are. From there, we can start to identify where your priorities are which allows us to start working together on goal development.
