Hi there, I'm Sharon!

I am Sharon Jones, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in the rural area of Coushatta, my early life was shaped by humble beginnings.

My approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in providing an environment for recovery, building hope and comfort to clients in need of transformation. I draw from a diverse range of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Art Therapy, Christian Counseling, Client Centered Therapy, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Dialectical (DBT), Gestalt, Grief Therapy, Heart Centered, Holistic, Mindfulness-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural, Narrative, Person-Centered, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic, Racial Trauma Recovery, Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Solution Focused, Somatic, Strength-Based, Supportive, and Trauma Focused techniques.

My focus

I specialize in working with individuals and minors (ages 13-17) dealing with a wide range of issues including Anxiety, Coping Skills, Cultural Stress, Depression, Grief, Job Stress, Life Coaching, Life Transitions, Mood Disorders, Parenting, Psychosis, Racial Identity, Racial Trauma, Self Esteem, Spirituality, Stress, Suicidal Ideation, Trauma and PTSD, Women's Issues, and challenges related to Pregnancy, Prenatal, and Postpartum stages.

My communication style

I communicate with compassion, empathy and understanding. My style is warm and non-judgmental, putting you at ease to share openly. I listen intently to your experiences and tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. Through supportive and collaborative dialogue, we'll work together to help you find healing and growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey into mental healthcare began when I traveled from Louisiana to San Francisco with just a handful of change, seeking a better life. This experience ignited my passion to serve others. Over the past 30 years, I have gained extensive experience in behavioral healthcare, working with diverse populations including children in residential treatment, adults and children in outpatient mental health services, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, foster youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, adults with disabilities, those with health issues, and patients in inpatient psychiatric care.

My goals for you

My goal is to provide effective interventions to help you reduce depression, anxiety, and trauma. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can find recovery, build resilience, and experience the transformation you seek in your life.
