Hi there, I'm Andrea!

I believe that working with clients is a privilege and that change can be created at any age. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens. I specialize in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, parenting issues, and challenges that aging brings.

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, parents, and senior citizens on diagnoses such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, & parenting issues.

My approach

I use a client-centered approach to draw on a variety of evidence-based and eclectic treatments to help clients improve. In my work, I use evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, collaborative problem solving, and play therapy.

My communication style

My communication style is positive, personable, & non-judgmental, with a good sense of humor. Clients feel comfortable talking to me about anything and knowing that we are working together to change thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a social worker because I have been “a helper” all my life and love working with children. I consider being a part of clients' lives a privilege and honor as I am being allowed to enter when things are often at their worst. I am driven to do this work because I believe everyone is entitled to mental health care.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is to first build a trusting and therapeutic relationship with clients so we can identify goals that they would like to work on. Client-centered goals are an essential part of the healing process, and I believe my role is to help clients reach those goals.

Our first session

During their first session, clients can expect most of the time to be spent on gathering information on how they have been feeling and functioning along with what may be contributing to those challenges. Focusing on strengths such as positive activities and support is also an important part of building a trusting relationship in an initial session.
