My communication style

My approach is real. I want to get to know you. I can't and won't start offering input until I get a bit of an understanding of who you are. My patients have told me that they feel welcomed and encouraged. I am approachable, genuine, and relatable.

My journey to mental healthcare

I knew I wanted to be a therapist at 15. But raised a family before going back to school to fulfil my vision. I used to think I was "late to the game" but then realized that life experience makes academic and theoretical knowledge have to prove itself. It's an important combo: real life and knowledge. It's never too late to step in to your calling.

My goals for you

Accomplishing your treatment goals will be our priority together. We will establish what they are and outline the path for reaching them. Therapy is not a linear process. It often involves what is called a "spiral dynamic". Check-in and review, self-report measures, and exploration of barriers will help keep us on track until your goals are met.

Our first session

The first session will include: obtaining information about you, your history, what brings you to therapy, discussing your treatment goals, understanding how your day runs, lifestyle habits, social support, and resources. We will incorporate this into you reaching your goals. You may also have questions as well. Please ask. I am happy to answer.
