Hello, my name is Anna Keaney and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years experience as a Clinician. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma causing both anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with clients to help them address behaviors and concerns that they feel are holding them back.
My approach
I utilize multiple modalities based on the needs of the client. From person-centered to cognitive behavioral therapies, these methods help my clients gain effective coping and/or communication skills resulting in stress alleviation. I enjoy working with both individuals as well as couples in reaching their emotional goals.
My focus
I have 15+ years of experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, both directly and indirectly. My specialty is those going through a loss, suffered emotional trauma, or are victims of violence. Unaddressed individual trauma can often lead to anxiety, depression, and difficulties in developing/maintaining loving relationships. Couples can struggle with unhealthy patterns of communication and need alternative tools to better understand each other.
My communication style
I understand the inherent complexity of finding a therapist that meets your individual needs and believes in following your own intuition in this regard. I place great importance on the comfort and trust of my clients. My experience has shown me the power of forming a connection with my clients in order to create an environment that is nurturing and encouraging.
