Hi there, I'm Jamayla!

I am here to help you positively. I have worked with clients across various settings, including sober living homes, the court system, the parole office, the probation office, and the entertainment industry. I specialize in helping clients heal from childhood trauma and abandonment and rebuilding trust.

My approach

I believe in developing a healthy relationship with my clients to overcome life's challenges, heal from childhood messages, cultural background, and sexual identity, and reach their personal goals with an open mind.

My communication style

I love to build rapport with my clients and have an honest, kind, and necessary relationship. If a suggestion doesn't work, as I know, we will collaborate to find a solution. And I would like my clients to be accountable.

My journey to mental healthcare

In the past, my profession has always been helping others: including nursing, a correction officer, a teacher, and now a therapist. I enjoy helping clients and educating others on the stigma of seeking therapy.

My goals for you

During the session, we will discuss the week and compare it to the treatments to assess if there's progress or no progress. In addition, I try to set the goals for 3 months, and we will look over the treatment for changes or met.

Our first session

Our first session will include: Introduction among us, seeing your ID, providing information on informed consent, mandated reporting, and HIPAA compliance. Clients are welcome to ask me any questions, and we will discuss the client's goals and past experiences. We will work together regarding the treatment plan and schedule the next appointment.
