Hi there, I'm Amber!

I'm not perfect, but I do practice what I preach. I'm here because I found it difficult to find the help I needed, and I hope my presence makes it easier for those in need now.

My focus

I am willing to see individuals and specialize in treating anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, divorce, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-harming, sexual addiction, stress, panic attacks, coping skills, trauma and PTSD, and suicidal ideation.

My approach

I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do. I am here to help you understand yourself so you can choose to take action to improve the quality of your life. I teach skills that are simple, although not always easy, so that you can continue to make progress in between sessions.

My communication style

I aim to communicate in a direct yet non-judgmental way. My style is to listen intently, ask clarifying questions, and offer insights to help you gain new perspectives. I believe in creating a safe space for open and honest dialogue.

My journey to mental healthcare

I attended UWF for my BA in Psychology, graduated in 2010, and CBU for graduate studies, receiving an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014. I completed internships in drug and alcohol recovery to complete my licensure in 2019. I have been working as a counselor since 2012, despite having multiple careers prior to the aforementioned dates.

My goals for you

I feel privileged to be a small resource in the journeys of so many. I am continually humbled by the trust shown to me and in awe of the courage shown by those giving it.

In our first session, we'll focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll listen to your story, answer any questions you have, and begin exploring how we can work together toward your goals.
