Hello, I’m Eon Iosefa a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I entered into this field to help individuals learn, grow, and heal at their own pace. I fundamentally believe that we are the experts of ourselves and our experiences.
My approach
My therapeutic stance is client-centered and strength-based. Through the use of Motivational Interviewing and techniques from the Harm Reduction Model, I am able to provide the clients I serve with a thorough, strength-based, and client-driven assessment of their mental health needs. With my use of Reality Therapy and Cognitive behavioral therapeutic approaches, I am able to quickly join/engage with the clients I serve.
My focus
I have supported individual’s ability to access their inherent tools to overcome struggles connected to trauma, grief & loss, depression, and general anxiety. Over the course of my experience, I have developed skills in providing therapy to underrepresented, underserviced families, children, individuals, and couples. I also have a wealth of experience supporting youth involved in the juvenile justice system, oppositional teens, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My communication style
My communication style is strength-based and client-centered. I very much like to meet the client where they are at, often meeting them with their their style of communication.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist to support individuals through growth, healing, and self-discovery. My hope is to support clients in unlocking their awareness of patterns to increase the clients’ ability to access the tools within them to facilitate their learning, growth, and healing through a collaborative process.
My goals for you
Assessments and goals are client-driven. Through the use of Motivational Interviewing and strength-based goals are developed through a collaborative process.
My first session with you
During a first session with me, a client can expect an easygoing non-judgmental joining experience for us to connect and join to see if we are a good fit for each other.
