Hi there, I'm Deborah!

I am a laid-back therapist. I may employ techniques that are new but, proven to be of benefit. I do utilize handouts and outside resources to help you to gain an understanding of techniques and to aid in the utilization of techniques. I help to provide you with many tools that you can take out of your toolbox and utilize based on your preference and diagnosis targeted,

My approach

I approach psychotherapy with the client's needs being addressed. I see us as a team working together to help bring you the hope of becoming the person you want to be. I usually will ask my clients how they envision themselves in the future. My top modalities are: Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Eclectic, Family Systems, Dialectical (DBT), Family / Marital, Interpersonal, Mindfulness, Trauma Therapy, Couples.

My focus

Those who are motivated for treatment and are of the belief that they can get better! Those who want a better, more fulfilling life!

My communication style

More of a direct style of communication. I use a lot of resources, videos, and handouts. I am typically identified by my clients as caring, passionate, and well-versed.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to therapy from the age of 4. I would read encyclopedias in my spare time and came to know that I wanted to know, what made people tick. As I grew older, I came to know that people in my world suffered from problems and daily life challenges. I wanted to help them understand more about themselves, and realize that everyone has problems and there are ways to help them feel better. I have over 40 years of experience in this profession and have learned a variety of approaches and techniques. I do feel that while I am highly trained that what makes the difference is, whether they are feeling better at the end of their treatment.

My goals for you

I gave progress in treatment as to how we are meeting the desired goals of the patient and promote feedback from my client on if they are getting their needs met. If not, I will change my style to what they are wanting based on their feedback.

My first session with you

In the first session we talk about the client's expectations from therapy, introduce ourselves, answers question the client wants, get feedback on if they are a fit, and perform an intake where I find out about medical history family, past abuse, their goals, and how they imagine what the person is they hope to be.
