Hello, I'm Julia Fukumoto, a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in collaboration-based therapeutic approaches. Grounded in the positive nature of the human experience, I believe that each individual has strengths that they are still discovering. This allows me to focus on the strengths and needs of those whom I work with in the therapeutic setting.
My approach
With a foundation in Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I strive to empower individuals, couples, and families to navigate their challenges and foster positive change in their lives.
My focus
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and families struggling with life's challenges including ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Substance Abuse, and Domestic Violence.
My communication style
I create a safe environment free from judgment. I am transparent and will share and celebrate client's successes as they work towards their goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a therapist because I have dealt with personal issues within my own lifetime. This journey has taken time but with time I have gained strength and confidence. This has fueled my commitment to helping others.
My goals for you
Collaboration is key to setting goals because the client knows best what to work towards and how they can accomplish goals. I serve as a guide and a companion on their journey.
My first session with you
first and foremost the client will be invited to share their path to therapy, discuss their true feelings, and hopefully gain a sense of relief that they are in the right place to start their journey towards a better life.
