My communication style

I get told often that I'm very easy to talk to and non-judgmental. I use a variety of communication styles like active listening, open-ended questions, and paraphrasing/summarizing. I have a laid-back demeanor and use humor when appropriate. I can also be direct and assertive and allow space for reflection without pressure.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to becoming a therapist at a young age. In my adolescence and adulthood people gravitated towards me, feeling safe to share their problems and ask for advice. When a client says to me "I’ve never told anyone this before", I feel honored and humbled. I love witnessing my client's growth, as we share the obstacles and successes together.

My goals for you

I will help you set and reach your goals by providing strategies and techniques that are tailored to your needs. You will develop self-awareness, have accountability, and any underlying obstacles, like negative thought patterns or past traumas, will be addressed. I incorporate SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-based).

Our first session

Our first session together I will ask about your symptoms and what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions about your history, including your childhood, family and romantic relationships, career and past traumas/adverse experiences. Together we will create your treatment goals, decide length and frequency of sessions and the methods to be used.
