My communication style

I like to keep a warm, reflective and safe space. You will be challenged here, as I also am open to being challenged to help cultivate that tone of partnership in this process. I'm walking alongside you, and providing perspective and some knowledge when necessary to better understand the brain, the soul and this life.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I was in middle school I read, " A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer. It was a memoir about surviving child abuse. I desired to be the one to rescue him, back when I was a child. As an adult, I've recognized that rescue from the environment is just the first step but survivors and those mentally burdened need support beyond the day of rescue.

My goals for you

After the third session, a treatment plan will be written up, with a combination of your explicit goals and goals based on observations from our conversation. Treatment Plans are framed for 3 month increments, so activities and interventions will be given to practice at home weekly if not every other week.

Our first session

I believe in a safe, supportive environment. Building rapport in the first sessions is mainly about my listening to your story. I will bring questions to help guide the conversation, but we can also hit the ground running if you have been sitting with your words for a long time!
