My communication style

I believe down-to-earth, realistic, and direct communication is the most effective way to identify goals in therapy. My goal is to help you feel relaxed, accepted, and welcome in your sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

I always knew I wanted to be a therapist, but I got distracted and became a lawyer along the way. I have worked in nonprofit agencies, correctional institutions, with victims of domestic violence, and as an in-home therapist for children. My diverse background helps me understand and empathize with many people.

My goals for you

Sometimes it isn't easy to figure out what you want, especially if it is not healthy or beneficial for you. I identify potential target areas and check in with you to determine whether we're on the right path.

Our first session

I hope you feel like you're having a conversation and not as though you're being interviewed. I want you to feel welcome and to be yourself. I am easy going, open, and use humor to relax. Don't be surprised if a cat pops in during our session, or a dog barks.
