As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with the female adult population (over 18+) from a holistic counseling perspective viewing the individual not only as the self, but in conjunction with their history, circumstance, roles, relationships, values, and beliefs.
My approach
I work with a compassionate, empathetic, and strengths-based approach. Together we will look at your life history, circumstances, roles, relationships, values, and beliefs. I will assist and guide you through the often difficult but worthy processes of identifying maladaptive thinking patterns and barriers that can often create emotions and physical symptoms that can cause great discomfort. We will take a look together at possible underlying factors of presenting symptoms, as well as determine a course of action in adapting and engaging healthier lifestyle patterns. I offer you a safe space to not only present yourself as you are but to explore who you wish to be and how to bring these two identities together as one.
My focus
I have worked for over 10 years in fields with varying populations that intertwine with grief and loss. This perspective gives me a unique ability to view losses and adaptations over the course of the lifespan, in many forms. I work with those experiencing a range of symptoms including anxiety, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, depression, codependency, self-image, chronic stress, aging, and more.
My communication style
I am compassionate, empathetic, and positive in my communication. I believe each individual needs to discover for themselves their own strengths and coping mechanisms, I am here to validate and encourage the discovery of this process.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been drawn to supporting others. Through my own life circumstances and the challenges that we all face as human beings, I delved into uncovering the capacity to cope with whatever comes along. Because I have such a passion for learning about psychology including the human body, mind, and spiritual self (in whatever form this takes for each person), I choose to share what I learn with others and assist in becoming who you wish to be through offering informative and compassionate therapy.
My goals for you
I believe in straightforward goal setting. I will ask goal-directed questions in order to lay the groundwork for what you would like to achieve through therapy. We will check in regularly about set goals, and problem solve when you experience difficulty with reaching desired goals.
My first session with you
In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and develop together a clear vision of your goals and what you would like to achieve. Together we will lean into struggles, and mentally adapt and challenge unhelpful thoughts while moving in the direction you desire.
