Hi there, I'm Kelly!

My name is Kelly Hays and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) in the State of Texas, practicing in the field of Social Work since 1989. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio, TX.

My approach

I have an eclectic approach to therapy, with experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). My therapeutic style incorporates elements of Christian Counseling, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Group Therapy.

My focus

I work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents aged 13-17. My specialties include treating ADHD, addiction, alcohol and drug abuse, anger management, anxiety, child abuse/neglect, depression, divorce, dual diagnosis, grief, panic attacks, schizophrenia, self-esteem issues, trauma, and PTSD. I also have experience working with older adults and aging-related concerns.

My communication style

I believe in open, honest communication and creating a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients. My style is warm, empathetic, and direct as I help you navigate challenges, gain insights, and work toward your goals. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, drawing from various therapeutic methods to support your growth and healing.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey in mental healthcare began with serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and a Social Work Officer in the Army. Over the past 30+ years, I have worked in various settings including Family Advocacy, Hospice, Outpatient and Inpatient Mental Health, Juvenile Probation, Physical Rehabilitation, and Veteran Services. I have also facilitated "Life-After-Loss" groups for the American Cancer Society and served as a "Stephen Ministry Leader" in two Lutheran congregations.

My goals for you

My goal is to provide you with compassionate, individualized care to help you navigate life's challenges, gain new insights and coping skills, heal from past traumas, and achieve personal growth. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered to make positive changes.
