I’m Dr. Chad Parker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I provide a practical, compassionate space for teens, adults, families, and leaders to work through stress, trauma, relationships, and life transitions while building healthier patterns and greater clarity.

I believe counseling helps you process life transitions and challenges that bring shifts in your emotions, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. My goal is to create a space where you can explore these changes and find clarity.

I have lived a long and colorful life. I've made good and bad choices. I have 22+ years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My life's work can be summed up in three words: "offering people hope".

The majority of my clients include teens, adults, and couples. My specializations include anxiety, depression, human sexuality, LGBTQIA+ issues, and trauma. I have experience working with people who have survived sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

A native of Charleston, South Carolina. I have provided counseling for the past 35 years (27 years of that in private practice). I graduated from St. Andrews Parish High School and the College of Charleston before receiving my master's degree in clinical counseling from The Citadel.

Life can be difficult, especially when done alone. Selecting a therapist is a major step, and I don't take it lightly that you have chosen me. My integrated approach is customized to each client's needs. Together, we will work to move you to that place of purpose by gaining positive insights and learning healthy coping strategies.

My pronouns are (she/her). I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2012. I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2019. I am licensed to practice in the states of NC, SC and VA.

I utilize Christian Counseling and an Eclectic approach (a combination of talk therapy and somatic/holistic practices). I have experience working with a wide range of individuals, with my most recent experience including college students and young adults.

I currently work as a licensed practitioner of the healing arts at a mental health clinic and have worked there for the last 4 years. I have six years of clinical experience and have worked in IOP and PHP settings.

I have been in practice for 43 years, with specialties in general mental health and behavioral health problems and challenges. This includes depression, anxiety, adjustment, mood, relationship, and marital problems and concerns.
