I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with well-rounded experience working with a diverse range of people. My approach is strongly rooted in a strength-based and client-centered perspective.
My approach
I primarily utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach and have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and trauma-focused treatment. These methods can help people find ways to manage strong emotions, recover from trauma, and develop skills like mindfulness, distress tolerance, and reducing negative thinking. These skills are helpful for a wide range of mental health symptoms as well as stress management.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals.
My communication style
I communicate in an open, direct, and empathetic manner. My approach is collaborative - I aim to create a safe space where we can explore challenges together. I tailor my communication to your unique needs, offering both support and gentle guidance to help you develop new skills and insights.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey in mental healthcare includes providing therapy at Oakland Day Treatment, East Bay Agency for Children from July 2012 to June 2013. I then worked in the Early Childhood Mental Health/PEAK Program at Uplift Family Services from December 2013 to November 2015. Most recently, I was part of the BASES Program at Mt. Diablo Unified School District (formerly Uplift Family Services) from November 2015 to August 2017.
My goals for you
As your therapist, I want to help you work toward your goals and utilize the many strengths you already have. With the opportunity to explore the challenges you are facing and learn new skills, there is hope for growth and positive change in your life!
