My name is, Claudia Villierme, M.Ed., MFT, & APCC. I extend a comfortable and warm approach to therapeutic session work. While topics within our session may be complex, I believe the process of building rapport, listening, reflecting, and brainstorming our options can be: simple. By offering a combination of therapies (depending on your needs), I approach most clients with a trauma-informed approach (understanding that most of us have had trauma and adversities in our past).
My approach
Often with trauma-informed care, a therapist holds space for clients to come as they are. I intend to build a rapport and a safe space where we can find a therapeutic approach for your care- as an individual. Often I include some insight and psycho-education based on biology, psychoanalysis, cognitive, and humanistic approaches.
My focus
Clients I typically serve have named trauma- or excessive stress in their history (recent or childhood). Most have been anticipating or experiencing a life transition and seeking some support and guidance. Because symptoms of depression, anxiety, and neurodiversity manifest with symptoms that can be overwhelming, I work with clients trying to deepen their understanding and learn (more) coping techniques for their toolkits.
My communication style
Because I believe you are 'the expert' as you know you best... I offer an environment where we collaborate and challenge past behavior or thinking or reflect on whatever feelings arise, both in a setting without judgment. The opportunity to work with you toward growth, catharsis, and healing is a profound privilege for me.
