Welcome, my name is Jessica Diaz. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with a diverse background of areas of need. My approach to therapy is compassionate, warm, and with a no-judgment stance.
My approach
I am passionate about helping others make a positive change. Everyone has a story to tell. I will listen to you in a supportive manner by offering a safe space, empathy, authenticity, acceptance, and trust. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use cognitive behavioral therapy.
My focus
I have clinical experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, across a variety of settings including outpatient specialty clinics, crisis intervention, trauma-focused, structured outpatient programs, and non-profits. I specialize in helping clients build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, approachable, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable talking with me about anything. I pride myself on my ability to listen empathically without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist to help others navigate difficulties they encounter in life or learn to process past traumas. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust between us and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
I understand that being comfortable and feeling safe with a therapist can take time. In your first session with me, you can expect casual questions and discussions for us to get to know each other and build trust and a safe space to accommodate your needs and identify strengths you already possess.
