I am Marian Marioni, a Licensed Psychologist, who is passionate about getting to know each client, understanding their unique strengths and resources, and helping them navigate through current challenges to achieve the desired change, healing, and growth.
My approach
My approach is client-centered and strength-based. I will meet you with curiosity, compassion, and open-mindedness. I believe in a collaborative approach focused on identifying priorities for desired change and areas for growth and healing.
My focus
I work with children, teens, couples, and families who have identified that a change is needed to get back on track to feel better as who they are and want to be again. Often, these are areas such as stress responses, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related experiences.
My communication style
The tone in sessions is open and collaborative, with ease established to feel trust and comfort in being able to express what feels important to communicate and feel supported. This creates a foundation for change.
My journey to mental healthcare
I moved into this profession after many years in a helping role as a Critical Care Nurse in the ICU setting. I enjoy being of service to others, and this step felt like the next best way to continue in that role - only in a slightly different way.
My goals for you
Goal setting is important in therapy and sets the foundation for a desired change. This is a collaborative venture and the priorities of the client are vital for the change process to be effective.
My first session with you
The first session is essential to set the frame for continued work in therapy to be helpful and effective. My goal in this first meeting is to set the tone to establish a sense of trust and safety to move forward together.
