My communication style

My communication style is calm, concise, and clear to increase empathic engagement. I provide positive feedback, taking into consideration the client's background and being culturally sensitive. I openly discuss readiness by paying individualized attention to the client's needs and goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a therapist during my teen years when I saw myself having difficulties finding a person to understand me and be empathic during this challenging transition. I did many internships working with teens, adolescents, and young adults in different settings such as hospitals, foster care systems, churches, and schools.

My goals for you

My style of goal setting is collaborative; by working together with my clients, whether they need my support to set goals or come up with new ideas, I make sure clients understand the importance of working together as a team. My first approach is to start building the client's trust and promote a safe environment to share during therapy sessions.

Our first session

The first session is all about building a relationship and learning about the client's struggles that prompt them to seek therapy services. I will also ask questions to have a better understanding of the situation and make clarifications if necessary.
