Hi there, I'm Sally!

I am an LSCW in the states of CA and NJ. I have been with Rula for about three years. I ask the client to tell me a little about themselves and why they want therapy at this time. My focus of practice is to make my clients feel comfortable sharing their story and empower them to make changes in their lives.

My focus

I enjoy working with clients of all ages and a diverse population. I am comfortable treating trauma, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, abuse, and relationship issues.

My approach

My approach with my clients is to be flexible and direct. My most common approaches are the strengths perspective, solution-focused, trauma therapy, mindfulness, and somatic therapy.

My communication style

My environment is always to make the clients comfortable and allow them to share what they feel is important to them. I ask them if they feel comfortable sharing when I ask them something that could be personal to them.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have a strong commitment to empowering others. I was a hospital social worker for many years prior to becoming a therapist and felt this gave me the experience and compassion to continue my career.

My goals for you

I ask the clients toward the end of the session if they have any goals for therapy. I do take notes and highlight what I feel is important to discuss at our next few sessions. I go over these notes and see if they agree. At the beginning of each session, I ask if they have something they want to talk about.

Our first session

Clients should expect that I will be honest with them about my approach. I do ask questions as I want to get to know them and their reasons for coming to therapy.
