My focus

I have a history of working with various ages, but especially children, adolescents, and families. I have extensive experience in working with children and adolescents who have been in acute crisis, and also those who fall within the LGBT+ community.

My approach

I like to continue learning as a therapist and strengthen my skills, especially to fit the client's needs. I use a variety of approaches, including Client/Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral interventions, Solution Focused (Brief) Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

My communication style

I believe that the client should be comfortable working with me so we can continue to move forward, since trust is paramount. I also believe that the clinician needs to meet the client where they are and gently nudge them out of their comfort zone.

My journey to mental healthcare

Since taking career aspiration quizzes as a high school student, the results have always indicated a strong leaning toward working and trying to help people. As I got older and was first introduced to this field, it just seemed to be in sync with what I needed to do and be involved in.

Goal setting is a partnership in which I try to meet the client where they are and also push their comfort level so they may continue toward their next phase of personal growth and goals.
