My name is Rebecca Tyrrell, and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Fresno, California working with clients state-wide via telehealth. I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma using trauma-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help better manage and regulate emotions as well as navigate the stressors of everyday life.
My approach
I adjust my approach as needed to best fit the needs of the client. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and a person-centered approach, I am able to help clients recognize negative patterns in thought and behavior in order to make positive changes.
My focus
I enjoy working with adults dealing with mood disorders, sexuality and gender, addiction, traumatic experiences, and other significant life changes. By helping clients learn more about their actions and emotions, I am able to help others make positive changes and lead fulfilling lives.
My communication style
My communication style is patient, understanding, and calm. I want clients to feel safe and supported to share whatever is on their minds.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been passionate about helping others and curious about the world around me, and becoming a therapist has allowed me to better understand how we function as individuals and as a society. I am driven to help others gain insight and provide support as they navigate life's challenges.
My goals for you
I will work side-by-side with you to create realistic, achievable goals and help you develop the skills and insight needed to achieve them.
My first session with you
During our first session, I'll explore how you have been feeling recently and your reasons for seeking help. Our first session is about developing trust and establishing a safe space for you to feel comfortable sharing.
