Hello, My Name is Julie Amirault. I've been licensed for 21 years as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I focus on using DBT skills, Guided Imagery, Meditation, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies.
My approach
I use a Mindfulness-Based Approach to assisting clients to identify their strengths, finding balance in their lives, and pursuing both their present and future goals. I believe clients are experts on themselves and I am fortunate to advocate for them along their journey.
My focus
I have had success working with adolescents, and adults. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-injury, mood disorders, and stress.
My communication style
I listen to my clients, engage honestly, advocate, and encourage their abilities to know what works best for them. I believe clients are the experts of themselves and intuitively know when something fits or doesn't.
My journey to mental healthcare
My goal in life has been to help serve in the best way possible using my unique strengths. My strengths are engaging, encouraging, understanding, and advocating for others.
My goals for you
I encourage my clients during our first meeting to identify what goal/s I can help them achieve in our journey together. At the end of each session together, I summarize and ask if we have discussed important information in reaching those goals. I encourage taking notes and journaling in between sessions in order to make the most use of our sessions together.
My first session with you
I use an intake form in order to gather important history, explain the process of therapy, confidentiality, boundaries, approach, and answer any questions they may have. I also ask my client to identify what their goals for therapy are and why they are seeking counseling at this time.
